Tiffon bros: From Hobie 16 to Olympic Dream (II)

Like Jason Waterhouse & Billy Besson, two of the top Olympic level sailors  right now, the majority of the French youth build their cat sailing & racing experience on board Hobie 16s. The Tiffon brothers have been following that path with great success. For the next step they are now entering the Olympic realm to join their countrymen Billy Besson & Franck Cammas among other top French crews sailing the Nacra 17s. Below his proud father, H16 & F18 sailor Franck Tiffon-Terrade who runs also www.catamag.fr comments on the family youth project.

“The first two Nacra 17 arrived in Meschers, 100 km from
Bordeaux mid-august. Antoine Tiffon (20 years old, 2 times French Youth
Champion ) is sailing with Maureen Coupet since march and score 9 at the
last European Hobie open. Thomas Tiffon (19 years old, 2013 French
Hobie 16 Champion) is sailing with his sister Marie, 15 years old.

Nacra 17 Europeans and the Semaine Olympic Francaise are great events for youth to sail with top sailors .
They had excellent starts and some good upwind marks which are making  the team quite happy. A
physical coach is helping them get in good shape to sail the demanding Olympic boat and this winter there will be time to improve and focus on Nacra 17 specifics.
The Program for 2016:  The idea is to do some races of the Eurosaf tour, and get a
third Nacra for Benjamin, Antoine’s twin, to complete the training
squad to match the team we have for Hobie racing, then work and have fun.

Maureen
Mc Grogan former Thomas crew has left the team to start her medical studies.
So, if you are  a
motivated female crew and you want to join us, please contact the team through  www.hardsailing.fr
