A-Cat Europeans 2025 Day 3
Light winds today at Riccione. Tricky conditions for the Foilers, where a reach after the top mark guaranteed foiling mode, while others decided to point downwind in foating mode. If you are a top 5 contender you need to go for a flight in light weather, issue is when you push the laylines and a gybe (which still are done in floating mode evaporating the precious foiling speed you need to acquire once again) in less wind will leave you drop dead while those floating downwind (within the Foiling fleet) slowly progress away from you.
This happened to Lamberto Cesari in R5, he was second behind Kuba, both foiling while others could’nt, but Lambi was stuck in a bad place and never recovered, 30th place for that one.
