Rondje Medemblik 2025 for Volker & de Boer

Rondje Medemblik 2025

Past weekend the Rondje Medemblik regatta took place in the Netherlands. Current World Champ helm Pablo Volker went to Europe for a pre season training & coaching sessions with NED & GER F18 sailors. Good to see Sander de Boer returning to the F18, remember well him as a Hobie NED dealer back 2009 getting a charter for Argies to race the Worlds.

Next stop for the Argie 2x World Champ will be Travemunde.

Pablo reports from NED:

I’m these early June weeks coaching some Dutch and German F18 teams, also getting ready to do the Texel Race 2025 with Sander De Boer on his Goodall Akurra.

Along Sander we raced this weekend Rondje Medemblik. We did pretty well winning four course races plus a second on the Long Distance.

On Saturday the long distance took place with very light winds (0-5 knots), we were leading until the last Mark of the Island, then the Van Dams passed us to win this one.

Sunday we 4 Races. 6 legs each with 12-20 knots offshore winds. Lots of manoeuvres, but super fun Racing in Medemblik. I will stay in the Netherlands until the Worlds.

On June 27th we will meet again with Federico Polimeni to prepare our Akurra and ourselves to reach the Worlds in the best shape possible.

Lots of top level sailors already in the entry list for the Worlds, so defending our title will be a really hard challenge”
