A-Class Official Website

Just wanted to confirm the information published today at the A class website: www.a-cat.org
I’ve been requested by the International A Division Catamaran Association to maintain the content of their new website.
As CSN has become a daily work with lots of hours dedicated to continue improving it and keeping the pace I accepted as I can complement it quite well with Catsailingnews, even gathering more first hand info from the As thus generating a good synergy that will benefit both sites/viewers.
First article will be Dario Valenza interview on his new Paradox.

Photo above, Nathan Outteridge who will be Artemis AC72 helm for next Cup along Loick Peyron.
Nathan has grabbed the A-Class feeling quite fast, the same on the AC45s, coming from the 49er is a plus, but his rapid growth on the As, even in hurricane conditions as seen in Florida last Worlds will be a key asset for Artemis at San Francisco.

If you can handle and race at top level an A-Cat in 25-30knots I can assure you can handle anything…

Handling and racing an A-class in 25-39 knots was not fun. As a participant it was hard for me, but the worst was the big short chop. Successive waves would kill speed, and then a big wave would want to knock you sideways off your feet. Plus looking out for the other boats, because tacking and jibing was also iffy and a collision meant lots of trouble including major damage and potential injury. The A-cat hulls actually did pretty well, but there was a lot of peripheral damage to rudders, rudder castings (mine) and SOME SPECIES of curved boards (plus rigging if hit).
