Formula 18 South Americans: Day 2

Another perfect day of racing for the 1st South Americans and 2011 BA Week, we had 4 today in offshore steady 10-12knots. Smith-Heuser leading now the SA on their mkII and step higher above the rest on their consistency at the top. Ian Rodger-Juan Martín Benitez on a excellent performance day with their C2 but penalized with an ocs , also a capsize.
I’m racing too consertative literally giving away ‘easy’ points, as we start in ‘2nd row’ each time working our way through the fleet to the get close the lead boats at the end, but somehow consistency is paying off and we are currently 2nd and 3rd on BA Week. Although we want to finish these two championships winning a race of course!
We also had some clinics with the Chileans crews that are quite happy on conditions and being able to get feedback from the Arg F18 fanatics.
The best chilean crew is Nicolas and Lucas Kovacevik with an excellent day 6,5,6,9. on a mk1 with the upgrade boards.
From Uruguay Christopher Schewe/Ricardo Radovitzky  5,7,8,4 today for a 5th overall on a Wildcat. Quite an achievement here as Uruguay has no fleet, on 4 Wildcats separated from each other, and only racing with us mainly. All Photos Claudio Cambria – YCA.
