Raku 32: Build process

Images from Yacht Services yard in Poland by Roland Gaebler/Tony Grainger. – What a great sight seeing this beauty becoming a reality. All the projects I’ve been involved were always long haul slow process developments, but in the end they are getting built.

Roland Gaebler got in contact when we launched the project with Tony in Catsalilignews, and now he has a become a key force for transforming those great Grainger lines & concept into a real life sailing weapon getting a builder for the project.

A 32′ its an excellent compromise solution for a coastal / daysailer and weekend racer / cruiser. Also provides a cool entrey level boat for those with smaller budget that those required to 500k-1M +40 cruiser.
This is no extreme flying machine a la G4 (for the time being??) so its a real alternative to cruise & race, spend the weekend onboard with a +1.80 clearance at hulls and a good cabin to rest and relax.

This design by Tony Grainger will be a milestone for the smaller cruiser Cats and will appeal many of experienced catsailors or multihull rookies alike.

With two different rigs for Cruising & Racing the future owner can decide intended use to fit his/her needs.

If the new Gunboat 68 is the benchmark for the larger scale fast cruising Cats the Raku32 will be the one in the initial +30 range.

If she will be a real innovation she will have to clearly outperform at least the excellent sailing Maldives 32, an also quite genius Fontaine Payot design out of the last century.
