But Vittorio & Silvia were not at ease with their early  achievement and went to win also the Medal Race, to close a great week of sailing that started with racing in 30knots gusts.

ITA, GBR & France have their country slot secured, but not yet defined who will represent their flag at Rio, GBR and France teams will face some of the toughest internal competitions before 2016 Olympics. The French squad put 4 top ten at Miami and the British teams have 3 more good teams ready to get the onyl spot available.

The US teams have a new competitors with top F18 riders Mike Easton helming for Katherine Petibone, who ended 21st, one place ahead of Sarah Newberry & her new crew, top F18/F16 rider Matthew Whitehead. John Casey is now helming and at least 6 more US teams will be seeking to represent their country.

The Australian qualy have Bundock-Curtis & Waterhouse-Darmanin, and the Spanish one will be also interesting to follow with Iker now having to face Fernando Echecarri (last Multi Tornado Gold Meda at Beijing 2008), Spain still have to secure their spor though, as ARU crew van der Velden/Visser,  5 more places are available, qualified countries after Santander 2014 Worlds are: 1 FRA , 2 ARG , 3 AUS ,4 ITA, 5 NZL, 6 SUI, 7 GBR, 8 DEN, 9 AUT, 10 NED

But this week was all about Vittorio & Silvia, a super talented & strong team that will lead the Italian team charge to obtain the first mandatory Mixed Multihull medal to be defined at Rio 2016.
Congrats to both, really happy for them as I’ve following their sailing careers for years here in CSN.
