Nacra 17 Worlds @The Hague: Day 3

Lots of good racing today, 5 completed for both fleets. The Tracking was excellent and it was possible to see how recent F18 World Champ Billy Besson continues to perform beyond the Class he is racing, at the Hague riding along Marie Riou. Besson is currently tied in first place with one of the top Nacra 17 crews so far , Mandy Mulder & Thijs Visser.

In third place Arg sailor now representing Switzerland, Matias (pic above) Buhler with Natalie Brugger. The aspect to remark on Matias is that he is not a Multihull sailor, but he is sailing with Natalie one on one against top experienced Catracers like Visser, Besson, Vaireux, Bissaro , de Koning and more in the top 5-10.

The Trac-Trac is a very useful tool to be able to follow the action like being there but also on the post analysis for the crews, loads of data for them to check out, specially at The Hague with the current playing a huge role.

The Yellow fleet had 5 races today, 3 for Blue.
The  level is quite high, just seeing past N17 event winners and usually top 5 crew Tim Shuwalow – Hanna Klinga in 20th place gives a good indication on how competitive this class has become.
Tomorrow they’ll race Gold and Silver fleet, the cut should be top 25. The biggest set back should be no US boat in the Gold Medal, pity having such talented sailors.
