“This year’s spanish long distance cup for catamarans was the first to be scheduled as a race on the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean (South Spain), from Chipiona to Cádiz and back again (about 45 nautical miles) this last Saturday, scoring thrice in the final result. The race was completed by three upwind-downwind legs with a 4 nm distance between the buoys on Sunday. Perfect conditions welcomed the sailors with 10-12 knots at the start of the long distance leg going up to 16-18 knots during the first day and 10-12 knots stable during the second day. The organizing club, CAND Chipiona did everything possible to make the race a safe event on the water and created a fantastic atmosphere for the sailors after the races, big kudos to the organizers!”

The event was scored in two categories (F-18 and Interseries), using ISAF SCHRS on the latter. The podiums were as follows:
F-18
1) CLAUS DENK – J. LUIS MARMOLEJO (AHPC C2)
2) ROBERT FIJNHEER – PABLO RIAZ (Nacra Infusion MkII)
3) DAVID SCULLY – JAIME CUESTA (Nacra Infusion)

Interseries
1) ENRIQUE CORNEJO (A-Class DNA)
2) IVAN COLOMER (A-Class DNA)
3) SANTIAGO NIETO (A-Class Flyer I)
