–Landy is Back. An excellent championship for him after being out for a while without even being able to walk! Great event for the A-Class Association too, organized by Circolo Vela Arco. The top three were close, Chris Field only lost his chances on race 8, and Brad suffered a collision that left him out for the last 3. He was finally re dressed and ended 3rd, leaving Scott Anderson 4th after 3 last consecutive 2nd places.
As per the reports they had the full range of winds, so it was a truly competitive event with Landy performing   in every condition.
In the final races bullets for Ben Moon and Brewin that peaked early, maybe getting used to his new mast.
Mischa Heemskerk only lacked consistency as he managed several top ten results. I think some A sailors need to return favors and participate on the F18 too making sinergy between both classes.

I’m happy for Landy, he helped me a lot bringing the first imported F18 sails to Argentina stepping the level of the local fleet. Also he is always open to help out with technical inquiries as when I was starting here with the F18 project, Felix helped the ‘Petit Leopards’ french crew too at my request and that is why I supported them back since day one. Now for LA F18 Worlds I’l be riding a Landy set for the Matt’s Falcon.

Impressive is the alternative for equipment available on this class, Scheuerer for Landy and Brad, note to Chris Field performance and really good news for Hans Klok/Catamaranparts.nl and their Vision. Scott on Nils Bunkenburg ever lasting  Nikita and his Fiberfoam mast. Which other boat has Nikita lasting record in any other Formula class? Maybe the Hobie Tiger?.

2011 World Champ Steve Brewin on a Dna a his own brand sails, the Bimares, the Dna fleet, Thilo’s Arrow, Flyers, Ashby sails and many more, you can be competitive with almost any combo.

Edit on worlds dates confusion:I’ve been invited to A-Class 2012 at FL, but I will stay already 18 days at LA in september, dates are:
LA F18 Worlds 7-15 Sept,2012 Words at Isla Morada is October 19-27 ,

Received a mail from Ian Sloan too, and NZ January 2014 seems a good place to be if we pass through 2012. I have time, Master Scotty is 60 I think, so I have some 20 years to catch up with the A-Class.

Thanks Martin to keep us up to date on what is happening in our beloved world of catsailing. How great it is to see that all the hard work of Hans Klok (and Chris and Piet of course) is paying off. I regularly see how serious Hans takes the quality of his boats and how he has a clear vision (hence, the name of his new A-Cat model) of what makes a cat perform. It is great that we still have real craftsmen committed to building great boats and now only aim for making money. CONGRATULATIONS HANS! AND CHRIS AND PIET!

The only bad thing about Euro is a number of boats starting together what on this speedy spot resulted in a huge number of damaged boats. I do think it would be safer for sailors and their wallets to split fleet in the future. Look what f18 guys are doing. Also in face of many damages, racing jury has not performed well.
    But in general, great event!

OOOps! mega typo ; The point i wanted to make is that hans is absolutely not in this business for making lots of money. affordable quality is king with him.
