C2

AHPC report: “C2 is really nice and fast down wind, you fly!! This is really safe downwind, if the C2 nosedives then so will everything else” Our French dealer, Francis Ferrari tested the C2 with some top professional sailors and the Wild Cat and Capricorn in 9 to 22 knts. The C2 is proving to be exactly what we set out to achieve. That is much easier to drive downwind and still have the up wind performance of the CAPRICORN. Downwind, compared to the CAPRICORN the crew is not forced into the rear foot strap as soon, in fact when the crew is in the foot strap on the CAPRICORN the crew on the C2 is only at the rear beam. this means the crew weight can be used for driving leverage instead of trying to hold the bows out. Testing reports have also shown that the balance on the C2 is superb, “the tiller is really light, downwind with 20 knots you can let it go for a few seconds”. This is a result of the total redesign of the rig and foil configuration. It may not be obvious changes but these things are only a matter of millimeters.” www.ahpc.com.au

Great looking boat, and continuing with the ‘Fat Boy’ trend in wave piercers established by the Infusion, followed by Swell’s Shockwave (but started with Boulogne’s Cirrus, J Valer Twister and other post Tiger traditional ‘V’ cross section designs) AHPC new F18, the “C2”, is right now the final evolution of a series of WPiercers initiated by their own Capricorn (and the Flyer in the F18).
After the Infusion was launched and later proved a superior design, there´s was not much room to play with, Loday-Wihte´s Shockwave also used volume as one of their a key features and you know how they did in their 1st World Championship attempt.
These past years AHPC stood back and let their competition improve their original wave piercing concept, after Hobie , Nacra, BiMare, Swell , Mattia and other´s have already shown their cards, Greg Goodall gathered an extra set of information and feedback besides his Cap, to develop his new F18.
If as the report says, they have maintained Cap’s upwind speed and gained margin downwind, then AHPC will be offering a design of the Highest Caliber, a refined tool for your next World title campaign…

Wow, nice boat, as to the person who commented on their dealer network, yeah, they might not have the thousands of hobie shops selling plastic boats, but check out their website. I've found most of their dealers to be pretty good at working with you to getting you a boat asap.
