Olympics: Last chance lost

At least for now no multihull in the Olympics.
…”The IOC President Jacques Rogge wrote today to ISAF: “Whilst the IOC Executive Board fully recognises the value that Sailing brings to the Olympic Games, it decided to maintain its decision of 2005 regarding the overall quota of sailors and medals. As a consequence, Tornado Multihull shall not be on the programme of the Games of the XXXth Olympiad in London…”

F18, Tornado and Hobieclass Worlds should be held at Weymouth in 2012, just steal the show of the Olympic Monohull sailing event, with 300 hundreds FAST boats!!

The IOC can sniff my balls, they wouldn't know an exciting sport if hit them in the head with a hull-flying daggerboard.

jajajaa the thing here is that the IOC is not to blame, ISAF decided that with 10 events there was no place for a single different boat:
9 Monohull slow trucks VS 1 flying Tornado

Screw the finn, they have the laser and if your too pie for the laser then play shotput. Likewise with the 470, go sail a skiff or get out of there. Not to mention the star which has a spectator rating of 0 except when the masts break. Bring in the F18; the kiteboard and the Moth.
