F18: St Barts Catacup 2023: Day 1 Results

St Barts CataCup 2023

Day 1 for the 2023 Catacup regatta. Varying 12-20knots and big waves as always with challenging conditions for the second race which was round the island.

Argie mates Agustin Krevisky & Nico Aragonés (Socrpion-1D – together they finsihed 3rd Worlds 2021) are leading with Tim Mourniac & Pierre Yves Durand (Goodall Akurra) , and Mitch & Ruben Booth (Scorpion-1D) in 2nd/ 3rd respectively.

Update: Seems Mourniac & Dary were protested by the Jury on some mandatory weight not present on their boats. results not modified yet.

Talented lineup this year, also Ravi Parent racing with Nick Lovisa and the usual top riders attendants like Easton-Burd, Demesmaeker, Bontemps-Amiot and Gonzalez Smith-Heuser who had a boat failure and plenty of water. Lucky enough the #1 guy was there for the to continue racing tomorrow.
Manu Boulogne had a busy day on the water along Matt Marfaing but put his experience, knowledge and infinite good will to stay late and make due reparations to the Argie Scorpion.

As wrote in IG, the F18 is a sailors and builders Class, a no amount of paperwork bureaucracy will ever replace the actual work done by guys like Manu to get things going.
