2023 Alter Cup

The Alter Cup is the annual US Sailing Multihull Championships regatta. Honoring Hobie Alter , founder of the Hobie legendary Surf & Catamaran sailing brand.

Cats used for the Alter Cup vary each year: F18s, F16s, or A-Cat. This year was held in A-Cat Classics (floating mode). Check photo above for curved boards and even no winglets rudder blades in some boats.
Classics rules allow winglets, which in our view/experience should be fitted in every Classic, after sailing the Scheurer with Landy small winglets in 2014 Europeans.

Winglets will provide you additional stability and control in the breeze. Without adding much drag, specially those Landy ones.

After eight races held at the Pensacola Yacht Club , Bruce Mahoney won this year Alter Cup edition, sailing a DNA F1 with due curved boards. Followed by Bob Hodges & Christopher Brown.

Our Argie mater Axel Issel sailing a Marstrom and scoring two top 3 and excellents starts as seen above (ARG 500)
