Results remain as reported for Day 3. Tight racing for the European title, Michel Kermarec and Fanny Merelle sailing a Goodall Vipere prevailed over Emmanuel Le Chapelier & Eric Le Bouedec (BeFoil F16)

” While the races on the previous days were scheduled between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, on Thursday, the crews were sent out on the water at 2:00 PM by the race committee. Two races were planned, each lasting about an hour. 

But to the surprise of everyone, at 2:50 PM, the race committee canceled the two scheduled races, thus confirming the final standings

It’s a cruel ending for Emmanuel Le Chapelier and Eric Le Bouedec, who finished tied on points with the winning crew, Michel Kermarec and Fanny Merelle. It’s even a perfect tie because the two teams had the same number of first, second, and third places! As a result, the race committee decided to break the tie by looking at the result of the last race, which KERMAREC and MERELLE won whereas LE CHAPELIER and LE BOUEDEC finished fourth.

Congratulations to Michel and Fanny for becoming F16 European Champions with their Viper 1, equipped with a Befoil mast and Dago Sail sails.

Emmanuel LE CHAPELIER and Eric LE BOUËDEC finish in second position with the Befoil F16 CARBON, the MINEUR brothers complete the podium with their Nacra F16 Carbon.”
