Formula 18 National Championship:

Redline Racing would to thank our supporters for enabling us to finish on the Silver step of the podium at the Australian Formula 18 National Championship.

Strong flat conditions on the first day saw us very close to the lead boat however not in front over the finish line. With some batten tweaks and softer conditions the eXploder/ 1D – One Design Sails combo proved its worth winning the lowest point score for the 3rd day. The final day returned to strong conditions with 18-22 knots. Not close enough to challenge for first overall however. We had a close battle with the 2022 latest eXploder Scorpion sailed by the A Cat legends. Ultimately seeing off our team eXploder mates on a count back.

What’s Next? Did someone say Magic?!

Kai is of to start with the Composite Shore Crew apart of the Americas Cup Team, American Magic. It is a fantastic opportunity for him and I wish him all the best in his new role! He is a fantastic young man, hard worker and great sailor. He will be an asset to any team he is with and I am so pleased he is off to American Magic.

He has also just competed in the Warren Jones Match Race Regatta. Sailing with Nick Egnot-Johnson as bowman they had a great week all the way to the finals. Another second overall after being edged out by Ethan Prieto-Low.
