Best of 2022, Part I: A-Cat Worlds by Nick Bowers
Two days ago we went out in perfect North-East conditions with Ian and Mehl with the As to close this 2022, it was a ballistic session in rather flat and comfortable +14 knots. I’m a bit older now and cannot stand those 5-6hs sessions, but what a blast foiling the A.
Still upwind flights are getting scary when full bore speed and pushing to the max, with main issue in occasions on how to decelerate or put the beast down. Spare the move your weight forward, stall main etc tips, there is a given point when foiling upwind becomes a ‘delightful’ scary high adrenaline ride and you surrender your soul to the Almighty. Which reminded me to review again the shortest and hopefully more controlled rig sketches I’ve drawn.
Above short from Nick Bowers from Houston Worlds, the Pros in full control upwind but you can appreciate the work done. One of the uncut raw footage from Nick here
