On the water Mischa Heemskerk with a DNA F1x reached first to the finish but was later disqualified on not grabbing the GPS tracking earlier.

Eric de Haas & his son Niels were second on the water and were name official blue ribbon winners sailing Eric new F20 Carbon. His curved boards one is p for sale in our Classifieds section here.

Interesting to see Mischa getting ahead the F20 Carbon beast on a long distance, A-Cats foil upwind as the F20 Carbon J boards, quite a technical match up vs the raw power of the F20 and the finesse of the F1x

Becker twin brothers win Texel Round 2022

“After two years of cancellation due to covid, 223 boats and their crew were more than happy to race around the Texel Island again. In near perfect conditions between 8 and 16 knots father and son de Haas took line honors in their new foiling Nacra 20. The battle on corrected time took place between a bunch of F18’s.

Team Duinmeijer/Alessie (Nacra Evolution) were first at the lighthouse being overtaken by the Becker twin brothers (Goodall Akurra) on the way to the VC mark. On the Waddenzee side of the Island, last year’s winners father and son Van Dam (Goodall Akurra) showed off their downwind speed and took the lead, followed by Duinmeijer/Alessi, Huntelman/Calis (Goodall C2) and Becker/Becker. Because of expected light winds in the lee of the South West tip of the Island the first three teams stayed wide turning back to the North Sea.

The Becker brothers choose to stay closer to the island, picked up a favorite wind angle and managed to take the lead. They did not give it away until the finish. Huntelman/Calis finished only 20 second behind, followed by mixed team Wielenga/de Waard (Nacra Evolution) who sneaked up from behind to take third place overall. 85% percent of all participants managed to finish the race, making it a very successful edition.

The date for Texel Round 2023 is set at June 10 th.
