2022 F18 German Nats & Europeans Preview

Long time we don’t write a preview, this F18 Europeans with 95 registered crews deserves one.

To be held next week at Circlo Vela Arco, Garda. This major regatta in European sole will be have parallel magnitude to a Worlds, with the 2021 event complete podium (Booth and Krevisky with different crews though).

Favorites are Ravi Parent-Severin Gramm (Nacra Evo) , followed by Mitch & Jordi Booth, our Argie mates Gonzalez Smith-Heuser and Krevisky-Juan Martín Benitez (all racing Scorpion / 1D). These crews have the podium credentials behind putting pressure in their shoulders.

The Euros Demesmaeker-Tas, Sach-Sach (both Akurra-Goodall) , Bader (Evo) , Boulogne (Cirrus) and more will be hunting them along the Aussie Armada led by Brett Burvill and their Edge fleet. Sadly our mate and historic F18 sailor, Gavin Colby couldn’t attend, he will be looking forward to attend Clearwater Worlds in September.
Late entry that might surprise are Argies Dante Cittadini (Youth Olympic Champ / Nacra 15 WC) and Sergio Mehl on a chartered Aakurra.

On locals Mazzucchi & Lisignoli (Edge/Oxxo Sails), winners of the recent 2022 Italian Nats among others, will target podium.

The fleet will be missing 2019 WC Darren Bundock along Danny & Kostas (2018 Title), who are tied to coaching, Danny also doing N17 campaign.

As a warm up event tomorrow the 2022 German Nats will commence with many of the Europeans contenders. Registered crews here
