New Scheurer Classic A-Cat 2022

The Scheurer G6 is an iconic A-Class design. Built by our friends at Scheurer Booftwerft, the G6 won many regattas including an European & a vice Worlds Title under the helm of Andrew Landenberger plus plenty more titles for Micky Todd in the Open and later Classic Division too.

The G6 was the first A-Cat I raced and second I sailed after a short test in BA on a DNA 2013 before going to Bordeaux Europeans 2014. Legend Andy Scheurer and Sandro Caviezel lent me a brand new G6 to enter the A-Class realm.

Sandro finished 4th overall behind Ashby, Waterhouse & Brewin and won the European title in that regatta with an updated foiling G6 platform)

The original G6 which serves as base for this new Classic, has Perfect hull bottom lines made the G6 a fast & smooth platform. Super safe and stable too as it was equipped with Landy’s winglets (which paved the route for later race Foiling).

The updated version also has winglets, but located at rudder blade tip.

Such is the pedigree of the G6 in the former all floating mode back in the day. Thus now with the established floating fleet, the Scheurer Classic based in the proven G6 will provide a winning platform.

Here in BA we had a great A-Cat sailing day with a good powerful North, such a beast the A-Cat, many trying to learn Winglfoil (which is really a nice toy) but as it was gusty the power of the A was the weapon of choice for the day, not many windfoiler neither today.

Also putting some hours on the feather light A to get in shape to sail the Scorpion soon.
