FORWARD WIP BECOMES OFFICIAL PARTNER OF THE NEW ZEALAND SAILGP TEAM

ROLLE, Switzerland JUNE 3rd 2021 – FORWARD WIP is proud to announce its partnership with the New Zealand SailGP Team as the official Athlete Safety Supplier for SailGP Season 2.

Forward WIP supplies the New Zealand SailGP Team with Impact Vests and Helmets.

The New Zealand SailGP Team has joined SailGP for its inaugural season, and the team brings an impressive range of skill and experience including six defending America’s Cup champions and five Olympic sailors.

SailGP features eight national teams battling in short, intense races at iconic venues across the globe. The high-tech, high-speed action features the sport’s best athletes racing in identical, supercharged F50 catamarans, flying at electrifying speeds of nearly 100 km/h. With such intense speeds, it is crucial the New Zealand SailGP Team gets the best protective gear available.

The Forward WIP Impact Vest has become a must-have protection device for elite athletes at the pinnacle of the sport. Selected by several America’s Cup teams and now used by the New Zealand SailGP Team, it features high-density foam combined with a low profile windage design and multi-pockets setup.

The Forward WIP X-Over Helmet, EN1077 approved, features advanced technology with its in-moulded micro-shell bringing superior shock absorption whilst also being ultra-light. Thanks to the many hours of wind tunnel testing, Forward WIP has significantly improved the aerodynamics whilst reducing noise at high speed.

Forward WIP is looking forward to working with the New Zealand SailGP Team which presents an exciting opportunity to develop new equipment. If performance in protection remains Forward WIP’s primary focus, sustainability is its key concern as the organisation is actively looking at new eco-friendly protection solutions for 2022.
