PWA Foil @Costa Brava 2019: Thomas Goyard 1st

All images by John Carter / PWA World Tour. More photos of Costa Barava at PwaWorldTour web. – PWA Windsurf foil racing is a new discipline, last year Arg sailor Gonzalo Costa Hoevel was crowned the first World Champ. Gonza rides for Starboard, a well established windsurf brand for years now.

For the second season of the PWA Foil World tour a group of French sailors is taking the series by storm. Past regatta at Yokosuka was won by Pierre Mortefon , and this weekend Thomas Goyard (FMX Racing board/ Phantom Sails & Foils) took the first place at Costa Brava.

Thomas also race in the RSx Class for France and last year Alex Udin sign him to race his new Phantom Windsurfing Foil race line. Alex started making Windsurfing sails before going for his F18 Sail Innovation project (check interview we did back in 2010) . Thomas Goyard won at Cost Brava grabbing his first PWA Foil event sailing a Phantom Sail & Phantom Race Foil. Check Phantom Foil line at www.phantom-international.com/foils , the Foil was designed by Phantom along D3 Applied Technologies.

Gonza Costa Hoevel (Starboard / Severne / Starboard Foil) finished in 5th place overall at Costa Brava. Is going to be a tough season for the Argentine champ to defend his title. After two event his team mate Mateo Iachino leads with a close gap in points for the top 5, full rankings here
