Comments by Roland Gaebler:

” Originally the project was established to teach catsailing to youngsters , see https://katamaransuli.hu/en/ , and it was founded by Prof. Dr. Geza Kaali and managed by Attila Nagy. This year they got also Nacra15+17 aside their schooling boats.

Now we have two young Laser sailors on board at the D35  https://www.facebook.com/BlackJackSL33/ . The project is where experienced and youngsters come together and learn from each other. And yes, the Balaton Blue Ribbon is the key event but we have also the Silver and White Ribbon and many other races which are shorter but as worth to race.

The Multihull fleet is growing every year in this Hungary region, and now more D35 from Swiss are being sold to Balaton.
Actually I think it is the place in the World where the most variated mid-size racing multihulls are coming together, ( see our post on the Blue Ribbon race back )

Somehow the Hungarians like to experiment with different hull/rig configurations. Two of the double riggers are the extreme. But also the AC45 with a new softrig and another one in standard configuration with foils.

Multihulls keep gathering momentum everywhere. Lets see which platforms performs at the 2019 Edition
