F18 Italy Punta Ala Regatta 2019 report by Alessandro Peliccia :

“Two perfect sailing days, 15 and 16 June for the Formula 18 Catamaran Class Italy in Cala Civetta, Punta Ala, for the third stage of the 2019 the racing season.

Twenty crews that, partly with their families, reached the Punta Ala Camping Resort of the homonimous location, to compete with each other. As early as Saturday morning, a beautiful mistral wind spread over the entire gulf welcomed the competitors during registration and the completion of the procedures. Skipper meeting and everyone in the water.

Departure at 2.30 pm with wind on 15 knots with peaks at 18, never more than a meter wave. Two laps for the first race and three for the following days. Adrenaline and fun guaranteed. Sunday wind direction always of the Mistral on the starting line at 13 between 10 and 12 knots, with less wave than the previous days, intensifying up to 15 knots with slightly higher gusts in the third race. During the event a beautiful initiative was presented by Italia Loves Sicurezza and the LHS Foundation is at the forefront of safety, in the workplace and in this case also at sea.

Mazzucchi-Lisignoli crew wins this event, followed the Gardesani Vettori-Stella and Radman-Cioni in third place. Fourth Fantasia-Recalcati and the Viganò brothers close the podium.
