On Saturday we published the Live stream of the 2019 Bol d’Or Mirabaud Edition. The biggest lake regatta in the World, where the fleet of the D35s cats racing in the M1 division always lead the pack of monohulls, multis and new experiment vessels, like that no hull tube structure monohull foiling that participated some years ago.

– On Saturday we published the Live stream of the 2019 Bol d’Or Mirabaud Edition. The biggest lake regatta in the World, where the fleet of the D35s cats racing in the M1 division always lead the pack of monohulls, multis and new experiment vessels, like that no hull tube structure monohull foiling that participated some years ago.

But for the Bol d’Or what you need is to have a versatile platform, one that can manage 1-5knots wind to endure 24hs of racing to round the Lake Geneve or a possible blowing storm that will put test to you boat and crew as few other places.

That’s the beauty of this regatta, you never know what to expect. Ladycat powered by Spindrift won this year, a Decision 35 cat owned by Donna Bertarelli and skippered by Yann Guichard. This team also is on a waiting period to attempt the Jules Verne Trophy after a broken rudder make then abandon the last take to the Round the World record.

This might be the last Bol d’Or this and the other D35s teams will be racing the current platform as a new D35 , a foiling version is already being built and is expected to sail soon. More info and a yard photof of the platform this week. It will be a great challenge for the new foiling D35 to be as versatile as the current one, but it will be an interesting project to follow.

In the SC1 Division (Small Multihulls) Nacra F20s, FPs and many others started this year only two boats finished a Ventilo M3 & a Flyin Phantom:

1 -09-  FRA 43 Emmanuel BOURREAU Ventilo M3 Cat Boat Spinnaker 0.988 1.0
2 -02-  FRA 777 Eric le BOUËDEC Flying Phantom 0.898 2.0 – Back To Basics

The rest all abandoned. Follow results link below and filter by SC1

The first Multi after the D35s was Teamwork Ventilo M2, in 8th overall position.

Later more info on other Multihull platforms that participated this year. Below Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2019 Top Ten elapsed times below, complete results at BOM2019 Official web www.boldormirabaud.ch/
