The Arg fleet top riders are training for the Worlds, and the podium continues to be an uncertain bet each new regatta, due to the high level of competition in the top 10.

Blando & Dalli (Phantom / 1D DS ) led after first 6 races last week but on this Saturday’s morning their chances were greatly reduced as a diamond wire was cut while giving tension for the expected high winds. In the end the Club personnel were happy to help and fixed the cable terminal for them to lose only the first race of the day.

Meanwhile Agustin Krevisky & Juan Martín Benitez (Phantom / 1D DS) had a “low” start scoring a 3rd with Volker-Mehl (Scorpion / 1D) behind.

Blando & Dalli got a 5th , DNF & 4th, adding to their initial DNC, the crew from Rosario, opened  the door for others to close the pts gap established the first weekend. And that is what Krevisky & Tigre Benitez did, they went for some perfect & neat racing to score 3 consecutive bullets. Volker & Mehl who were also contending for the podium finished 2nd behind them in those last 3 races.

Tied in pts both crews were expecting to define the regatta on Sunday, but bad weather called for a no racing day giving the first place to Krevisky & Benitez untying on on number of first places.

Though Sunday’s racing was cancelled, the winner later went out to train on their own, putting high focus on Costa Brava Worlds to be held in June 27.

Nacra 15 Gold Medalists Dante Cittadini & Teresa Romairone (Phantom / 1Mischa DS) had a grasp of racing the major leagues. they did good considering their lack of experience with the Class, finishing 8th overall. It was a great experience for them in my view, and having a local Class to race is something not even Lange had in the past. The F18 is providing that playground for them and we hope to continue having them racing with us.

Don’t miss this event, 2018 Europeans were reported as one of the best F18 regattas ever organized. 115 Entries confirmed by now, official web: https://cvballena-alegre.sailti.com/en/default/races/race-inscriptions/text/f18-world-championship-2019-en
