Official video above by Hartas Productions with not much Gold footage, but great video though. Excellent conditions at Vallensbaek.

Photos just in  4:15pm Arg,  check entire gallery at F18 Worlds Fb . +200 pics. Another album available now , good move from the Org: F18 Worlds FB Day 3.
Also Mogens Hansen has published plenty on the Silver fleet at his FB page.

F18 Worlds 2017 @Vallensbaek, Denmark. Day 3:

Mischa Heemskerk & Stephan Dekker (Scorpion/ Mischa DS) dominated the Day with 3 bullets in 14-16knots. There are some videos from Gavin Rietman showing the first coming from behind Simon, and the other two with a good gap from the rest.

Yesterday we wrote wind was coming and Mischa and others would be gathering for a hunt. And that is what the Dutch sailors did , with flare & pure dominance.  Mischa sailed the Scorpion back in Kiel Worlds 2015, but not ever since. Now with his Mischa DS Sail he & Stephan are putting the platform in “Turbo” mode when breeze is up. Mischa always innovating and betting high! Fair to say on their skills both might have won with a standard Mischa sail today, but that DS surely was working upwind. Feedback I have is the gap was made indeed to windward.

Wind conditions reported by the Arg crew was 20knots, 16knots and 13knots for each race today.

After 6 races NED007 were in 17th position and 20pts behind the leaders, today they are 4th and 10pts behind Demesmaeker-Tas (C2 Goodall), who got  5, 5, & 3 today to re gain lead of the championship , they were our Nr 1 candidates previous the event.

At Kiel 2015 Worlds, Mitch & Ruben Booth (Scorpion / 1D)  were leading after the Qualys, but when breeze came for the Finals, they got a bit behind. Today with a more grown up Booth crew, they managed to stay close finishing  10, 7 & 5 to defend position and keep a second overall.
Great day for them without a doubt.

Third place overall for van Dijk-de Waard (Infusion) : 6, 3 & 7 to climb to podium zone and confirming why we put them in the favorites group.
4rth overall as noted above for Heemskerk-Dekker.

Danny Paschalidis & Konstantinos Trigonis (Scoprion/1D) had a mixed day on results: 8, 20 &  and a vital  2nd in the last race behind Mischa. These results put them 5th overall, but again well positioned for a possible Finals discard  on keeping the pace.

Our Arg mates Cruz Gonzalez Smith & Marian Heuser (Infusion) also put pedal to the metal today: 3,2 & 10 showing their World Class on the Gold Fleet finals. As reported yesterday they just missed a +20 on the qualys giving away precious points. nevertheless and as they are used to , the put the entire meet in the grill (as we say here) when it was most needed.
Hats off to them,  taking our Flag high up always, World Class F18 sailors proven many times.

Northrop-Barker (Infusion/Hyde Sails Kent) were leading the overall after race 7 were they finished 2nd, but got behind on a double 20th.

Still all open, I wouldn`t dare now beyond our predictions before the event to say who will win.

Such a super competitive F18 Worlds and fun to follow. Pity the tracker, Class mgmt need to focus on the important things and take care of those details when needed.  Local org , media , live updates and result on time has been really good, congrats to Penny and the Vallensbaek-sejlklub.dk.

Forecast for tomorrow says lighter winds: windguru.cz/48083
