F18 Italy: Anzio Bay Regatta 2017: Fantasia & Lisignoli 1st

Images Formual 18 Italy / formula18.it – Gianni Fantasia & Jacopo Lisignoli (C2/Landys) won this weekend regatta at Anzio Bay. Marco Radman & Luca Cioni (Wildcat/1D) finished in second place folowwed by Michele Manacorda & Alessandro Porretti.

Gianni & Jacopo are registered to race the 2017 Worlds at Denmark and will be another C2 crew to watch. They have been performing last year and now at Anzio over experienced crews like Radman & Cioni.

Good to see crews using non factory sails, which always brings alternatives and competition between lofts adding more choices for sailors. That’s the great beauty of the Formula Classes, specially the F18 where performance between different designs is leveled to the extreme in the overall.

We raced F18 here in BA this weekend and the leveled field is also between top notch crews and rookies or those like me not training much, 1 to 1 you can match or surpass speed and angles even with a 7 yrs old Infusion, but then you need hours and plenty of training to minimize errors and keep the pace of the top guys through the entire regatta.

– 2017 Worlds Charter: I have a top Arg crew looking for a good Infusion MKII to race in Denmark, if any available in Europe lets us know.

2018 Worlds are confirmed for Sarasota, and for 2019 Italy has put on a bid for Grossetto:
