Achieving this for Simon with his own designed & built Sails together with Hyde Sails Kent has double merit, more when the F18 is suffering a “shortage” of independent Lofts for us to buy proven F18 Sails. “The Edges were going really fast also and 5th placed infusion was a 9 year old boat using 4 year old sails !!!!

Simon experience on the event:
“We went into the event as favourites as we have won every UK F18 event and also both UK “Raids”( see links below ) plus the Texel Dutch open and a good performance at the worlds as Top Brits .–

The pressure was on a bit after day one as we didn’t have the best of days with a 5,3,3 but it turned out that the venue was quite hard to read what the wind was doing, day 2 we had a blinder winning both races and our main rivals both having a bad day meant we leapfrogged them to take the lead, day 3 and the breeze was up we consolidated with 2 thirds and although we didn’t know it at the time had won the event with a race to spare which was just as well really as we had to retire from the last race.

Its mine and Josh’s first nationals win and we are very happy especially as we are using sails designed and built by us – we are off to the Belgium nationals this weekend and hope to continue what has been our best ever year in F18 so far !!”
