Nacra 17 Worlds 2014 @Santander: Besson-Riou lead into the Finals

All images Jesús Renedo / Sailingenergy.com | Billy Besson & Marie Riou are simply unstoppable: 1,1,2,1,2 for the 5 qualy races to maintain lead. Arg sailor sailing for SUI Matías Buhler, & Nathalie Brugger repeating until now the top 3 obtained in the 2013 Worlds. British crew Pippa Wilson-John Gimson currently 3rd and one of the two GBR teams in the top ten.
4th for Bissaro & Sicouri with a good recovery from a so so start scoring 1,3,1 today.

But the highlight of the day is 53yrs old Santi Lange, sailing with Ceci Carranza. The “Nono” (grandpa) has less hours than the entire top ten in the Nacra 17 and has not been sailing small cats for a while. Ceci had a really nice debut last year with Blando coming from a Laser campaign.
Now both Ceci & Santi are trying to secure a ticket to Rio for Argentina and they are doing an excellent job.
Only improvement is left for their future considering the hours both have sailing & racing the Nacra 17.
Hat Off to this tough Argentine crew.

Qualification stage is over, tomorrow Gold & Silver fleets will racing separate courses. Big prize at stake as Santander will define 10 spots for Rio 2016.
