“This last weekend the Spanish Long Distance Catamaran Cup was organizedby the CAND (Club de Actividades Náuticas) in Chipiona, in the very south of Spain. Chipiona was again the venue for this quite special racewhich covers about 40 nautical miles along the coasts, from Chipiona to Cádiz and back again. The race was planned to take place on saturday, but all racing had to be cancelled due to strong winds with rough sea.
During the night the meteorological conditions calmed down and racing could be started on sunday. Initially we had only about 4-5 knots of wind, but soon the typical thermal of this region kicked in to offersome nice sailing conditions.

In F18, the winner with a big distance over the rest of the fleet wereRobert Fijnheer and Paul Stiebler from the RCN Denia, on a Nacra Infusion MkII. In Interseries, spanish A class expert Kike Cornejo fromthe RCN Barcelona won on a DNA. We had a very mixed fleet of Nacra17, A class, FX one, F18 and even a Ventilo sailing together, it shure was a perfect day of sailing.
