F18 NL, North Sea Regatta 2011: Guess who leads?

Large F18 fleet (59 boats) at the NSR and this is getting monotonous…. Bundock – Van Leeuwen lead after 7 races with 1,2,1,1,1,1,(6)
DB “Tested new longer centreboards in the C2 today. Gee we were at least 10% faster…Awesome pace upwind. 1st to the top mark in all but 1 race…”

Still races left on monday.
The only crew that could beat their winning streak, Heemskerk-Tentij , are 2nd and ex world champs De Koning/Visser 3rd.
The silent performer in previous regattas is Jason Waterhouse, currently 5th, from Australia, the aussie youth promise riding, if I’m right, a Wildcat.
Hobie needs some replacement for the top stars of their previous Pro team (Bundock, Heemskerk, Booth, Brouwer, Mourniak and others) as many of them have left the brand for other projects like AHPC or Cirrus.
Although Oscar Zeekant and Karel Begemann are supporting the pressure quite good with a 4th overall on their Wildcat. Macca with some dnf is 25th.

Here in Argentina I helped one of the sailors to grab the Hobie dealership, negotiations are well advanced and we may have some official Wildcats soon racing in our local fleet.

Darren and Jeroen are testing the new C2 longboards, that don´t need any modification for current C2s, is just the actual foil shape but longer.
We’ll have some soon here in BA for the ‘official’ catsailing test.
