Ashby-Spithill debut at the Texel

Hobie Press Release
———
Glenn Ashby and James Spithill, winners of the America Cup with the Team BMW Oracle,
join the Hobie Cat Pro Team for the Round Texel, in the Netherlands.
This week they are flying to the Netherlands, where they will take delivery of their brand new Hobie Wild Cat at the shop of the Hobie Importer, Sander de Boer (Nautical Center).

After that, a busy program is scheduled : last tuning and preparation of the boat, training next week and then they will sail the Dutch Open just before the famous Round Texel, the biggest catamaran race in the world, that will be held on June 19th.

Glenn told us :
“Both James and I are really looking forward to this year’s Round Texel race. It will be the first time James has done the event and I am sure he will have a great time. It will be nice to do the Dutch Open as a lead up to the great race and we are exited to be back on the Wild Cat after our last sail together was in San Diego Harbor last year in 18 to 30kts!”.
“Every Texel race is different and challenging and the race is never over until the very end. That is why it is one of the hardest races to win”.
We are very glad to welcome these two great champions in the Hobie Cat Pro Team.
