I am very proud to announce you that Fred Lepeutrec recently joined the Sail Innovation team, everyone probably knows his latest background.

Fred notably did several Olympics campaign in Tornado and ended 6th in Atlanta’s Olympics . Always interested in offshore races, he entered in 2000 the Club Med crew and won the “The Race”.
In 2002 he becomes the skipper of Bayer the 60 foot Orma multihull, then Gitana 11 and ends 2nd in the “Transat Jacques Vavre”.
Fred integrated the Groupama team as second helmsman during the last 2 years, and recently won the “Jules Vernes Trophy”.

After several discussions with Olivier and Arnaud we asked Fred to join us in order to coach the team but also to race on our second boat (Capricorn SI).
Olivier and Fred have already a close friend relationship since a long time knowing they trained togther during the Torando Olympic campaing, everyone are very exited and looking forward to work together.

His huge experience in multi hull and his real open mind spirit are real asset for all the team.

Fred will participate as helmsman to the F18 World in Erquy with Thibault Vauchel who’s got also also a big experience in the F18 Class, Thibault used to sail as helmsman with Jeremy Lagarrigue.
