“Current leader Pete Melvin (shown left) is a boat designer as well as sailor. He designed the Morelli and Melvin Infusion built by Nacra. Pete usually sails with his son James but for this event he is sailing with Nat Shaver who works for him, Nat has previously designed a Moth!

You have to congratulate the youth team Taylor and Mathew. What an eventful day for them! They came in to a huge cheer on the beach and a hug from Robbie Daniels (photo).
He has been coaching the boys. Wow has it paid off!

Update on the protest from race 6 B Fleet: Greg from AHPC explained ‘the S-hook on the downhaul came unhooked allowing the block under the beam to hit and break the cheek block when the crew pulled the downhaul on’. The judges granted re-dress and took the average of all Stiemsma’s previous results as their result.
It was planned to run another heat (7 B) because the committee are worried that the wind will die down even more tomorrow. However they changed their minds – a popular decision with the B fleet sailors looking forward to their first beer of the evening! “
