Report from Circolo Vela Gargano:
“Two more victories for the Olympic Australians Darren Bundock and Glenn Ashby in the Tornado World Championship that is being played on Lake Garda.
After the two runaways of yesterday, the world-beater team today has struggled a bit more. Easy the first victory, with the “ora” (wind from the south) that was blowing around 10 knots. The Australian team, silver at the Beijing Olympics, had no difficulty to get ahead of their opponents: the Austrian Thomas Zajac and Thomas Czajka, regular in the placings, and the Greeks Iordanis Paschalidis and Konstantinos Trigonis who pay the OCS of the first day.
The second test today, the fourth of this season, was more exciting with the Belgians, Andrew Macpherson and Bastiaan Tentji, that have dominated for three sides of the race but in the last few metres of last stern they were unable to curb the power of the holders and they had to be satisfied with silver. Behind, third, the President of the International Class Caroljin Brouwer”
