Nacra’s Bet: Team Boskalis

In 2008 Koen de Koning gave Nacra the 1st F18 Championship since the class was founded almost ten years ago. Sailing for Performance Sails (Nacra´s factory sails) team inNigran, now Koen will ride under the Team Boskalis structure (Nacra Europe pro team)

With the addition of Hugh Styles, recent Eurocat winner, and the Larsen brothers (Gunnar owns Nacra Europe) Boskalis has a top team of pros to match the Hobie “Wild Bunch” lead by Bundock-Ashby that includes Mitch Booth, Mischa Heemskerk and Mourniac.
Team Boskalis is basing their strategy in pairing Masters and young talents to get a good mix of experience and drive.
Van West was sailing 49er before joining the team in 2008, and he seems to be learning cat skills very quick as he recently won the Eurocat with “Master” Styles over the top experienced F18 crews.

Team Boskalis has a good receipe for success in the F18 circus, major sponsor support, factory support from Nacra, and a nice group of sailors, not to mention they are sailing the Infusion that proves she is up to the challenge , so there aren’t many flaws in this project.

I wasn´t wrong some weeks ago pointing not to discard the Infusion
