Jeroen Van Leeuwen-Bundock winning Streak

No typo error, Jeroen Van Leeuwen deserves the spotlight. With this weekend results these two are unbeaten since racing together on the C2.
After the Worlds at Erquy where Bundy was close to grab the title with a brand new design, a challenge that to my knowledge no one could achieved till now, Jeroen joined the 2B sailing team and together with Bundy they started winning every single championship they’ve entered:
– Zandvort NAM Race (Long distance)
– Ronde TienGemeten (Long distance)
– Dutch F18 Nats
– Belguim F18 Nats
and this weekend F18 NED race with 48 boats.

Today I received a mail from Thomas Ekefalk regarding his boat used at the regatta, he was 7th and their boat was assembled out of the box like Bundy’s, which is an important detail regarding the setup required and tuning for the AHPC C2.

Thomas was praising Darren for his disposition but he remarked the same about Jeroen, and made a short description on how this 2008 F18 World Champ (left with Coen de Koning) has helped many helms to achieved their best results , mentioning also this last winning streak.
In the afternoon I received the 2B sailing press release on the unbeaten pair on this same subject.

So here our recognition to the Catracing Crews, more than the 50% of the work, why? well I’ll give you the best example:
I think I’m capable to excell in our fleet , even aiming to win the Nats with Jeroen as a crew, but if I crew for Bundy I have serious doubts on a error free regatta on my behalf, not even mentioning handling speed with all the tasks the crew is doing on the F18.

Another good one is our Tornado team, Santi Lange is one of the most recognized sailors in Argentina with several World Champs in other classes with Olympic and AC experience, but he didn´t win a thing in the Tornado class until he joined Camau Espínola, the Arg windsurfer , already a legend here with 4 consecutive Olympic medals (2 Windsurf, 2 on Tornado).
Together they won the T Worlds in their first attempt in 2004, got a Vice champ here in BA in 2006 and of course the two consecutive Bronze medals at Athens and Beinjing, together for sure one of the strongest and most professional racing teams ever in any sport.

Take good care of your crew, they are doing all the hard work and they are the main key of your performance, and if you are doing poorly, well , get better as a Helm cause is your fault!

Next major challenge for Jeroen and Bundy on their C2, will be Eurocat on April 28.
I also have them as the top bid to win the 2011 F18 Worlds, so they better deliver as I need to maintain my successful past bids with Wilson-Lynch and Backes-Jarlegan.

Another funny type error was the spelling of my name. Magnus Lovden (the crew of Thomas Ekefalk, SWE 66) being typed Magnus Guden. "Guden" actually meaning "The God" in Swedish. So yes, the crew is the boss! 😉

Great guys, Bundy and Jeroen. Great support when we picked up our new C2.

  2. I picked up my C2 a week earlier from 2Bsailing. Darren plus Jeroen was VERY helpful and service minded. The reception I got (and I am a complete beginner in multi) was great , the boat was great and the guys are great. Can only recommend the experience.

    Best regards,
