“The Northwest Passage is a waterway made up of a sequence of straits in northern America, above the Arctic Circle, which connect the Davis Strait to the Bering Strait, that is, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.

Our project is to cross it in 2021, but unlike the other seven trips, the main objective will be to make a film about climate change, as this passage has been closed for centuries.
My partner will be Igor Bely again. Together we crossed the Pacific and the Atlantic.

We will have a support boat that will be the “Fraternidade” of Aleixo Belov, the first Brazilian to go around the world, in fact he has already traveled the planet five times.

Along with Aleixo we will have Fábio Fabio Tozzi, a doctor and very experienced sailor in cold waters. The idea is that the Fraternidade will take the documentation team, and be our rescue boat in case of need. We want to cross the pass unassisted, and which boat we will use is still in doubt.

It has to be light to take it out of the water every day. You have to have tight protection to sleep because of polar bears. You have to move with oars because at this time (boreal summer) there is little wind. It’s tough enough to be dragged over ice in places. All in all, a complex and fascinating journey. In the photographs some models that have solutions that can be adapted.

Abraço a todos.
