Thirteen races held this weekend at Hellecat, the traditional venue for many Cat classes in the Netherlands. Flat waters and perfect conditions for the A-Class. PJ Dwarshuis builder of the DNA F1x won the 2019 Dutch Nats Open edition over Thijs Visser (DNA F1x/Mischa Sails) & Rutger Krijger (D3/North).

Mischa Heemskerk was racing but participated only the first day. Mixed wind conditions for the event between perfect foiling course vs full floating races where the Classics prevailed. PJ did well in every condition and secured the title. Always happy to see designers and builders racing and winning, there is no greater satisfaction than sailing your own Cat.

Like Caroline van Beelen (Nikita / Mischa Sails – #2 Photo above) who had a great event, won two races and also was crowned as Classic Division Dutch Champ. Caroline sails the legendary Nikita A-Cat by Nils Bunkenburg, a key design in the Class which set the norm for the platforms that came after. Second place in the Classic Division for Philippe Muyzers (Vision / Oxo Sails).

Top ten overall below over a 30 boat fleet. Complete results at Dutch Assoc fb:
