Texel Dutch Open: One more win for Mischa and Bastian

In Argentina we have a word to define sailors like Mischa and Bastian who against all odds and near misses still continue going hard and pushing the limits: “Huevos” (guts, cojones etc)
These two guys have plenty.
Mischa and Bastian on a Hobie Wildcat managed to take the overall crown of the Zwitzerleven Dutch Open raced in 3 days of tough sailing.
They capsized several times, also broke a daggerboard while racing but they recovered, and they end winning this key preparation regatta for the Erquy F18 Worlds.
They were also eager to race the Round Texel in those harsh conditions but sadly it was too dangerous to launch 500 cats, so the call was right.

New boats
AHPC had 2 crews racing the C2, Bundock-Samama and Brewin-Benson obtained some bullets and the other australian F18, the Edge, ended 5th overall with Brett Burvill and Ryan Duffield.
Last year we saw the debut of the Shockwave, New Mattia , Wildcat and the Exploder.
Now it’s the Aussies turn with these two brand new performers.
Hugh Styles and Ferdinand Van West on their trusty Infusion tied on points with Mischa and the crown was decided on bullets. Full report below by Diana Bogaards.
The F18 class is consolidating year after year its great success and confirming how good the class rules are.
Vipers were 7th and 8th overall among a strong F18 fleet.
