F18 North Americans 2025, Newport, Rhode Island
May 26, 2025. Day 1 for the 2025 Formula 18 North Americans. A 30 boats fleet present at Sai Newport. The teams completed four races held in super shifty conditions from 7knots to double trapeze. Long time Class competitor John Casey returns to F18 racing and along Dalton Tebo dominated this tricky first day scoring 3 bullets out of four races. They are sailing a Nacra Evo.
John is currently working as a sailing coach and clearly has not forget how to race F18s! Hopefully we can see him racing more events in the future.
Second overall for Pilon-Mony (Evo/1D), third for our Argie mates Venetucci-Quagliotti (Scorpion/1D) and fourth for Lars & Olin Guck (Scorpion/1D). Easton-Mason Hing follow on an Akurra.
New England 100
On the weekend the New England 100 long distance was held in excellent breeze, 3hrs of +18knots racing for the F18s, within a beautiful course. This annual regatta should have more exposure.
Winners for the NE 100 were Froeb-Marfaing, second fro Lars & Olin Guck and 3rd for Argies Venetucci & Quagliotti.

Light winds right now for Day 2 as the fleet heads to the outside course.
