Nacra 17. Lanzarote 2021: Day 3 Results

Third day of racing for the Lanzarote Regatta 2021, a key event for four European crews seeking the last continental slot for Tokyo Olympics 2021.

In current times of phony posers and politically “”correct”” attitude I prefer to admire powerful women like Tara Pacheco or Carolijn Brouwer. They are both mostly pure action, same as many other Nacra 17 female helms or crews. Still I think the N17 should be an Open Class where Tara or Lin Cenholt would shine the same. Would Lange change Ceci Carranza (in an Open N17 Class) as crew after what she did in Rio under the ultimate pressure? hmmm little chance. Carolijn also sailed Tornado Class no prob.

The rest I see elsewhere out of sports arena is mostly forced programs that eventually will backfire pretty hard in my view (as seen already in some sports where man just dressed like a woman to earn a spot or achievement he wouldn’t complete in his own gender). This in every aspect of the mandatory equalilty tendency without taking account merit as first component . Beyond any political consideration Margaret Thatcher comes to mind as a role model.

Going back to Olympic Euro qualifier Sweden is currently in best position, with a 4th overall ahead of FIN, GRE, NED and RUS.
