Rule D.2.3
Amendment: Delete rule and renumber accordingly.
Rule D.3.1

fibres, polyester gelcoat, a core of PVC, balsa or felt, the combination of
wood-epoxy, injected plastic, which shall not be altered other than locally

glue is permitted for joining components. Every material that is not

Bad grammar again. The first sentence of D.3.1 is missing an "or". Last time the sentence didn't even have a verb. So, this is a little better. But, it is still a complicated mess and far from clear.

If I were to write that rule it would be:

    (a) The hull shells shall be built from any combination of the following materials:
    i) Polyester or vinyl ester resin
    ii) Glass fibers
    iii) Polyester gelcoat
iv) A core of any combination of PVC, balsa, and felt
    v) Epoxy coated wood
    vi) Injected plastic

    (b) The materials in D.3.1.a shall not be altered other than locally for fitting and the passage of equipment and normal reinforcement.

    (c) Every material that is not expressly permitted in D.3.1.a is prohibited.

Can we talk more about catsailingnews and less about alexudinwars?

    Lamberto

  3. Editor says:

Lamberto, just don´t reply and no argue will be made. I just want to publish all public info I get as then I have some loser saying I don´t publish all docs.

  4. Lamberto says:

Just say that people are fed-up and we risk to lose the "F18 spirit"

  5. Editor says:

"People" Need to be informed as they are putting the $.

    Risk of losing the spirit?
Are you making or launching these situations/docs?
    Me neither.

    ISAF/IF18CA official published docs.

The Americas Cup has got the world's attention turned onto cats. Same thing to a lesser degree with the Extreme 40s. All those painted cats look awesome. All the white gelcoat hulls of the current cat classes are looking very plain and old-school in comparison.

If it's true that it doesn't cost any more to use paint versus gelcoat, then there's a big opportunity and serious potential waiting.
