Stick with straight Boards for A Class and make a C Class for the foiling fun.
Little too late to go back to straight boards. That is the main issue with the non foiling, That is not going to happen, pigs will foil before the current fleet go to chunk their cases to fit straight boards. It is just common sense.
The first problem is that a boat can fly
with straight, vertical board – albeit briefly, without control and not
especially fast. A racing rule such as "at least one hull must be in
contact with the water" relies on protests during racing for enforcement
and is outside the scope of the TC.
What a fucking cop out, grow some balls you whimp. The TC could easily include a principle such as 'The intention of this rule is to prohibit foiling'. It's that simple, don't over complicate it. The exclusion of competitive A Class sailing to ordinary family folk and the disenfranchisement of the backyard innovator is directly attributable to this bullshit TC. As the previous comment says, the C class and above is where exotic innovation belongs.
