A-Cat Midwinters 2023: Day 1 Results

New generation of Argie sailors performing abroad. Now turn of our mate Fran Venetucci, 2,4,3,3 for the day in the Open fleet and one lead to windward mark against some seasoned A-Cat sailors. Fran is an F18 sailor who also got hooked with the double program we’ve been pushing forward for years now, and burning his head to get an A was no exception either!

Fran has been training A-Cat hard at Rosario, his home town, almost alone as the majority of the fleet is in BA. Last F18 Nats he finished second with Nico Quagliotti, thus having a good run in his only second regatta ever in the A-Class (previous was Houston Worlds 2022).

Only first day and much to come, but already a great debut for the Argie. Happy for him. Boat chartered D3/1D DS.

Mahoney leads Open, followed by Bailey and Fran. Classics lead for Webbon, Marshack and Losapio.

Ben Hall was preparing his famous Wing, will see if he end using it today. More updates later.
