Nacra 17 Wolds 2017 Day 5: Light and tricky wind conditions today. For the title constant changes for the lead, a reference on how competitive this Worlds are. With past 4 Nacra 17 titles won by Billy Besson & Marie Riou, we will see new champs crowned tomorrow.
Billy was present at La Grande Motte along the French team, word is he will be returning to the Class. We hope so, as Billy also has excellent foiling experience in the C-Class and A-Cats, aside dominating with total command the previous four years of the Nacra 17 Olympic campaign.

Two British & two Spanish crews in the top five , Saxton &  Dabson scored 2,2 & 16 today to grab theh overall lead after 15 races. Echavarri-Pacheco 1,19,5  to keep the second overall from yesterday.

Highlight of the day were Gimson-Burnet had a great performance with 3,4, &1  to climb 10 places! from yesterday to a 3rd overall. Impressive day for them.

Tita-Banti follow them 1pt behind  and Martinez-Maslivets close the top 5.
Cenholt-Lubeck  went back to 9th overall after 17,12 & 12.

Arg youths had an inconsistent day 20.17, & 6  for 14th overall from the 10th they held yesterday, but still a great first Worlds for them  showing they can race one to one against the most experienced crews in the fleet.
No many of us expect for the local Sailing Federation to offer them the due support to match their present and future potential. If not, we will gather a crowdfunding effort for them no problem.

Lange-Carranza were much better today ( 11,5 & 3) as expected but it was not enough to get inside the top ten…yet.
Tomorrow 2 more races scheduled plus the Medal.
