9 hours on the water today Wednesday  at Vallensbaek , Denmark. Light and shifty wind conditions.

5 knots racing for the first race of the day, then postponement waiting for wind to establish but the committee managed to complete the 6 qualifying races. From the 3 held today, last two done in a bit more wind with another complicated course  in terms of wind pressure.

Consistency was the key for the entire qualifying series, the top riders manages to score top ten results which looking the mixed results from many crews was truly tough.

9hrs is quite a lot of time to be racing and waiting, so it was a challenge for all.

Phillip Hendrickx & Filip Oyslager  (Goodall C2) made the best out the conditions scoring 1,3,3 to climb to first place overall. Second place for  Helge & Christian Sach (Infusion), already legend of the F18 & Former World Champs, finishing 5,6,1 for a total of 15pts overall.

Check Q&A made by Jasper van Staveren with the leaders at the IF18CA official web: f18-international.org.

Third  place to another Legend, Mitch Booth & his son Ruben Booth (Scorpion Exploder / 1D) wanted to print a bullet in their sheet and they did it in the 5th race: 6,1,14 to secure a third overall.
Mitch already got excellent results with his sons in the Class (third 2013, led Kiel 2015 also), and together with Ruben they are on the hunt for more glory.

Danny Pashcalidis & Konstantinos Trigonis (Scoprion Exploder / 1D) didn`t appeared in the top three updates today, but I knew they were near:  4,10,4 to complete a really good qualifying series for them racing together in the F18 for the first time along the new boat.
Yesterday we got a report from them with feedback on the platform/sails, and they were already happy and learning to sail the boat.  Told them that still all was open and now they are in good position for the Finals.  Having these guys in the Class is good news, and good vibes.
Having them along the Booths racing what Jakub & Balazs delivered its really incredible

Locals Daniel & Nicolaj Bjørnholt (Wildcat) got back some paces after their lead from yesterday, but still pretty much in contendance. Fifth overall and only ten pts from the leaders.

Favorites Demesmaeker & Gilles Tas (Goodall C2), got little “”slow”” today with  3,8 & a 10th to stand in 6th place overall. Mischa & Dekker(Scorpion/ Mischa DS)  got 9,9,3 for a 17th overall.
These two above and many others will be ready to climb next days Northrop-Barther (Infusion/Hyde Sails Kent) , van Dijk-de Waard (Infusion) and many others.
The Australian kids had another good day, Lachie Hughes & Harrison Rietman are 25th overall after 29, 4, 9.
Sailing a new boat for them another great perf on the tricky shifty wind conditions.
The Arg crew got a tough day as everyone else, Cruz & Mariano put 10, 29, 6 to a 20th overall. They missed 1 extra +20 on the discard, but they get stronger in the finals and they are fast with more wind.
Much racing left  3 days exactly as Saturday is scheduled for more action.
Winds are expected to raise tomorrow and Friday, and positions might change. Nothing defined and close competition through the entire top 20.
The video guys suffered an accident, and they went overboard including the camera, but gladly they are OK and will be back tomorrow.
Pictures still pending.
