A-Class Schweriner Cat Cup 2017: Lars Schrøder 1st

Photos and report sent by Lars Schrøder. check Lars modified Vision in first pic and daggercase placement, quite forward with case center at shrouds. I will wait after Sopot to modify our A14, after the feedback I received from the Aus Nats, confirming is worth an provides noticeable flight improvement.

Schweriner Cat Cup 2017
“The first regatta in the far northern Europe was sailed on April 22-23 on the nice Schweriner see, and arranged by the very nice and competent Schweriner Segler-Verein Club. Both water and air were still very cold at +5°C!  A decent turnout of 18 a-cats on the list, but only 11 made it to the harbour and starting line. Weather forecast predicted a breeze so some stayed in the sofa.. Also top-cats, F18 and darts on the line.

Only racing was possible on Sunday, 4 races in typical lake weather, patchy up to 25 knots of wind. Thomas Paasch, chairman of IACA technical committee, was fast out the box in his cool Nikita, followed by Lars Schrøder in an “old” refitted Vision. Alexander Zylka mixed in with his C-board Scheurer.

Thomas got in to trouble in second race, ending with a TopCat destroying his rudders, so he got redresses for the series.

Good fight for the rest, both floating and flying boats, flying (and finishing) did decide the races, and Lars Schrøder (Vision A-Cat) won with some degree of consistency.”
