“18 crews gathered for the 2015  French Viper Nationals held last weekend at Arzon, South Coast of Brittany.
Wind conditions ranged from 5 to 15 knots, allowing to complete 10 races under sunny skies, a welcome change from Eurocat a few weeks ago.
In classic Viper style, the fleet was a mix of experienced sailors and upcoming young guns, all fiercely competing with six different boats gaining line honors.
This diversity shows on the podium with Louise Ferrari, age 13 crewing for F18-C2 expert Pierre Yves Durant and winning on a 2010 Viper by the tightest margin over the more experienced crew of Fred Leger and Steph Beranger.

Eva Eckman with Theo Constance threatened for the lead throughout, ultimately finishing third just ahead of Eurocat C1 silver medallists Gildas Griziaux and Laurent Michelot. A great experience overall for the four 13-14 years old crewing and even steering (Lou Berthomieu) and still some display of skills from the 50+ sailors using the Viper as a Fountain of Youth. “
